One week

Or not even one week – four days. Then it’s vacation time for this old gal! But before that I still have a two-day business trip to Stockholm, an exam and a lot of work ahead of me. But soon… Soon I can relax.

To make sure I won’t miss our neighbours too much, we’re heading back to Sweden on Friday, hehe. We’ll be spending a week on Öland in the southern part of the country, just relaxing and enjoying the nature. After that we’re going to Vasa for midsummer and the next two weeks of my vacation will probably be all about packing and moving. But that’s ok – I have two lazy weeks in Greece to look forward to in September.

Oh well, off to the airport then. What are your plans for the summer?

The third line

Before we sell part of our old furniture and move to our new place I wanted to take a few pictures of our current apartment, so J and I can look back and reminisce about our first apartment when we’re old. And at the same time I realised that I haven’t even showed you our kitchen – so here you have it! Nothing special, just plain and simple. Like the rest of the apartment. Do you like it?

PS. If you’re wondering why I named the post The third line – it’s the name of the street we’re living on (Kolmas linja or Tredje linjen, all streets in Helsinki have both Finnish and Swedish names).

Ulrikasborg July 1st

Remember this post I wrote earlier this year? Well, here comes the announcement! We’re moving back to Ulrikasborg in July. It’s actually the same street I lived on when I first moved to Helsinki two years ago. A hobby psychologist would probably conclude that I find calmness and peace in the past?

But over to the apartment! It is a bit smaller than our current one, but it is oh so pretty. Think wooden floors, high ceiling height and light colours in combination with a modern kitchen and bathroom. But what I love most about the apartment is that it’s located on the top floor with a view over the old rooftops.

So currently I’m all about home decor and furniture. And after a short break I’ve fallen in love with Pinterest again – follow my Interior board if you’re into Nordic design as well!

LBD à la Clarice

These pictures were taken last weekend during my brother’s exam party in good old Vaasa. I bought this black silk dress at My o My especially for the party – love at first sight! It’s so versatile that I will probably wear it out already this summer (translation: you can look forwards to maaaany outfit posts with this dress). And the best part? It was 50 % off! I mean, I had to buy it – right!?

Friday I’m in love

This beautiful evening sun definitely makes up for the rain we’ve been living with previously this week. And the best part is that the evenings just keep getting longer and lighter. Today I was wearing one of my standard uniforms mixing black and classic blue denim. And don’t worry – I’m not wearing the same pair of black jeans every day! I have three similar pairs, hehe. Have a great and sunny weekend y’all!

Walk in the park

Sometimes the Nordic weather really surprises you – like today. Suddenly summer is here! A few weeks ago we still had piles of snow and ice left and now you can stroll around outside just enjoying life in light summer clothes. And it’s amazing how nature wakes up so fast, it surprises me every year. Day by day the leaves get a little bit greener and a little bit bigger. Lovely flowers everywhere. Birds are singing happy songs. I love it.
